I am Janice East, owner of Rust and Romance and GypsyFarmGirl. My etsy shop, GypsyFarmGirl, started in 2011 and has grown over time to what it is today. Those first few hand made items I created didn't sell very well, but one day I created a burlap and lace wedding bouquet and from there, things started picking up and I found my niche. Now I create custom wedding items, carry burlap in over 40 colors and have shipped my hand made products to all 50 United States and several countries including Canada, Italy, Australia, Switzerland, Taiwan, Norway, and the United Kingdom. We have maintained a 5 Star rating on etsy and over 625 positive reviews.
At the end of 2014, GypsyFarmGirl became my full time business, as I "quit the day job" and focused my attention on my online shop and our farm. Since then we have added more products including the upcycled clothing, graphic tees, and more home decor and vintage related items. In that same time period, a friend from my previous job at the flower shop and I decided to do a booth at our county fair, setting up with my vintage 1959 camper. That has led to more shows and now we have a booth at the Mineola (Texas) Antique Fair, that is open 2 days a month. You can find us there with many of our online shop offerings plus many more unique and one of a kind items. We share that booth with Angea Howell of Rooster Tails, while the website offerings are strictly my own.
While still maintaining our etsy shop and the booth, we have decided to branch out and create our own website here at Rust and Romance. The new name seems fitting as we have a love of junk and rusty treasures, although we will always love a good love story and helping create wedding bouquets for those who are creating a new life together. We have a rustic yard and garden (our gazebo and rusty bucket of flowers have been some of our most popular projects to date) and we are always excited for a good upcycle project that comes together as we envision it!
When I left the flower shop in 2014, I didn't plan to do fresh flowers anymore, although local friends and customers had a different idea and call on me from time to time for special events, weddings, and sympathy tribute pieces.
Follow us on social media, because you never know what we may get into! Oh and I promise to share cute baby calf and donkey pictures along the way! You can also find my GypsyFarmGirl Blog for more about us and see many of our projects we have created.
We appreciate each one who allows us to be a part of your special events and for everyone who supports our shop! Custom Orders are always welcome, so please send us a message!
