It's Show Time! This year my theme has been "when life get's tough, get creative... and keep rolling." When our county fair was cancelled, my heart went out to all the youth livestock exhibitors who were already heavily invested in their projects. A group of individuals has got together to creatively host a show for the students to exhibit and sell their projects in October. My roots are strongly tied to the FFA and 4H clubs - I was one of them showing in the 90's and I personally know how much the show can benefit the youth from leadership skills, teaching responsibility, to money for college or first vehicles. The fair was where we also got our start setting up booths at events in 2015 and was the best show we had in 2019, so it impacted us with the cancellation as well.
The very night (in June) I heard the fair (scheduled for October) was cancelled I drew out this scene with a heifer, steer, pig, goat, rabbit, and chicken - all animals that will be shown. My first thought was that if a show goes on, I will make shirts with a portion of the sales going to support the youth showing, by either purchasing or adding on funds at the sale. Now that the show is officially organized and planned to keep going with modifications to meet safety precautions, we are making the shirts with a portion of sales to support the youth at the new Upshur Co. Youth Expo!
A bleached short sleeve tee or baseball style shirt option are available now. The graphic includes all the animals that will be shown, along with a basket of fall leaves, sweet potatoes, and a yam pie. The show stock has a Blue Best of Show ribbon. It says "It's Show Time" and "When life gets tough, get creative, & keep the show rolling on."
Shirts are a unisex fit - please see the size chart in the pictures to determine best fit for you. I have dyed the image into the fabric, so it can't be felt on the shirt. See other listing for the baseball style tee. Bleaching pattern will vary from tee to tee as these are all hand made and created by us.
Shirts can be mailed, picked up at the Gilmer Area Farmer's Market September 12, or delivered locally.
Thank you to everyone hosting the event for the youth and to everyone who supports our small handmade business!
